ABOUT KATIE

certified professional coach + working mom of two

For the past twenty years, my journey has been about helping individuals reach their full potential. It all began with teaching, then evolved into leading education initiatives, supporting HR leaders and teams to excel. Along the way, I saw firsthand the challenges of leading large organizations and noticed a troubling pattern: few women held senior leadership positions. This realization drove me to found Tide Risers Seattle, a premier women’s leadership program dedicated to helping women achieve their biggest dreams and goals.

In 2022, I took a leap and transitioned to full-time coaching. Partnering with Parentaly, I supported clients prepare for and return successfully from parental leave.

But in the summer of 2023, life threw a curveball. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and I made the difficult decision to relocate my family to be with her during her final weeks. This meant significantly pausing my work and career goals.

This challenging period reinforced my belief in the importance of supporting leaders through life's toughest moments. Whether it's navigating new parenthood or taking on caregiving responsibilities, I am committed to helping leaders make tough decisions that allow them to show up fully both at work and at home.

I believe we need to better support leaders in overcoming these challenges, enabling them to continue advancing in their careers in ways that are meaningful to them, without sacrificing what is most important to them at home.
